1819 Born at Whitechapel, London, the son of George Plowman.

1851 Living at Salutary Cottages, Sidwell Street, Exeter: George H. Plowman (age 31 born Whitechapel), Trimmings and Haberdasher (Single). With his mother Sarah E. Plowman.[1]

Pre-1860 Traded from 52 High Street, Exeter as hosier.

1858 Married at Exeter to Marianne Laskey

1860 Retired from haberdashery business and it passed to his nephew John Scudder.[2]

1891 Death of his wife Marianne.[3]

1901 Living at 107 Sidwell Street, Exeter: George H. Plowman (age 81 born Whitechapel), Living on own means. With his daughter.[4]
