George Hubert Woods (1872-1944) of Crossley Brothers and Crossley Motors

Born younger son of Mr Thomas Woods, J.P., of Llandaff-place, Cardiff, and of Rose Cottage, Lowestoft,

1897 Married in Kensington to Janet Marian Duckle Wraith

1909 Appointed general manager of Crossley Brothers, motorcar department.[1]

1911 Living at The Limes, Edgeley, Stockport: George Hubert Woods (age 38 born Llandaff), Manager, Motor Car Works. With his wife Janet Marion Duckle Woods (age 36 born Lower Darwen) and their three children; Heather Marina Duppa Woods (age 12 born Blackburn); Margaret Duckle Woods (age 5 born Lytham); and Henry Fex Woods (age 1 born Manchester). Also his sister-in-law Elsie Margaret Duckel Wraith (age 33 born Lower darwen), Single. Two servants.[2]

1914 October. Hubert Woods after long association with Crossley joins British Westinghouse of Trafford Park, to be involved with electrical work for motor cras.[3]
