c. 1890 Company established by George Jones in London. Involved in various aspects of production (including publishing) for a number of trade magazines concerned with the graphic arts.
1904 became a subsidiary of the department store Debenham and Freebody
1906 constructed factory on Whippendell Road, Watford. Around then, Mortimer Menpes, an artist joined the company and became art director.
1908 Jones left the company, which then changed its name to Menpes Printing and Engraving.
1918 Andre Sleigh and Anglo acquired the assets of Menpes Printing and Engraving
