c.1858 Born in Southampton, son of Charles Arthur Day

1876-1880 Apprentice at R. and W. Hawthorn

1880-1882 Attended Royal Naval College

1883-4 Worked for 16 months at Barrow Shipbuilding Co

1885 Joined Day, Summers and Co as partner

1889 of Northam Iron Works, became a Member of I Mech E

1890 of Day, Summers and Co

By 1901 he had retired but was still living in Southampton[1]

1929 Died in Quenington, Fairford, Glos.[2]
