By 1914 the principals were Robert Somerville, J.P., Campbell Gibson (great grandson of the founder), Robert A. Somerville, Hugh C. Somerville.

1915 George Gibson and Company Limited was incorporated as a private company, with capital of £123,000, to acquire the shipowning business of that name.[1]

2001 The company was dissolved.[2]
