George Henry Whitney
born 24 Feb 1821, Framingham, MA, died 7 Mar 1895, Nashua, NH.
In 1839 G. H. Whitney joined John H. Gage in his machine tool manufacturing business. In 1851, with D. A. C. Warner, Whitney was given an interest in the Gage machinery business, and in 1862 Mr. Gage being accidentally shot, the firm then became Warner and Whitney, remaining so until the death of Mr. Warner in 1873, when for the five succeeding years Mr. Whitney conducted the business alone.
