George Martineau (1835-1919)

Born the son of George Martineau

1919 February. Died. 'Mr. George Martineau, C. 8., died at Gomshall on February 5. in his 85th year. Mr. Martineau was born in 1835, the son of Mr. George Martineau, of Tulse Hill, and educated at University College, London. He was adviser to the British delegates at various international conferences on suger bounties, held in Brussels and Paris, and from 1903 to 1905 was assistant British delegate at the International Sugar Commission. He wrote also constantly on the subject of sugar, and on this and other economical matters he was a frequent contributor to the correspondence columns of The Times. Mr. Martineau was made C.B. in 1902. He leaves a family.[1]
