GEORGE RAINE died on December 24, 1926, at his residence in Gosforth, Newcastle-on-Tyne, at the age of seventy-one.

He was formerly chairman and managing director of Raine & Co., Ltd., Iron and Steel Manufacturers, of Winlaton Mill, and the Delta Iron and Steel Works, Derwenthaugh.

He was elected a member of the Iron and Steel Institute in 1902.
