George Russell and Co engineers and crane manufacturers, of Alpha Works, Motherwell Junction.
1865 Company established and stated that they were engineers and makers of stationary boilers and engines, steam and hand cranes, winches, hoisting engines and light locomotives.
1867 Silver medal at the 1867 Paris Exhibition. [1]
1888 Glasgow International Exhibition. 20-ton Rope Travelling Crane. [2]
1892 Large 80-ton sheer legs for Union Dock, West Hartlepool [3]
1937 Crane builders. [4]
1958 Taken over by Adamson Alliance Co of Horsehay.
c. 1975 Closed down.
