George Spencer Mathews

Educated at King Edward's school, Birmingham, and privately.
1855 Entered Cambridge University
1859 Graduated B.A. (7th Wrangler)
Became a land-agent.
He was one of the founders of the Alpine Club.
1889 Birth of son Lewis O.
1892 Birth of son Arthur G.
He was prominent in municipal affairs in Birmingham.
1904 Died at Edgbaston.
