1851 George Ure 31, smith grate mounter (sic), lived in the vicinity of Camelon with Jessie Ure 31, Elisabeth Reid 32, Agness Ure 8, Georges Ure 3, Jessie Ure 1[1]

George Ure was managing partner of Crosthwaite, Ure and Co of Camelon during the 1850s and a partner in P. McKinlay and Co, iron merchants in London.

1860 George Ure opened his own foundry, the Columbian Stove Works, at Bonnybridge with James Smith and Stephen Wellstood.

1871 George Ure 31 (sic), Iron Founder employed 160 men 140 boys land owner, lived in Stirling, with Jessie R Ure 51, Jessie Ure 21, Annie B Ure 12, John Ure 16, Isabella M Ure 11[2]
