GEORGE WHITE, born at Taddington, Derbyshire, on the 22nd April, 1849, died at High Melton on the 18th May, 1916.
After gaining experience as a colliery manager in Derbyshire and as Engineer to the Mexboro’ Water Company, he was appointed in 1878 Engineer and Surveyor to the Mexboro’ Local Board.
He carried on in addition a consulting practice as engineer and architect, and was responsible for various public buildings, and drainage and sewerage schemes. He was also land and mineral agent for the Montagu estates, and filled a variety of local offices.
He was elected an Associate Member on the 1st March, 1887.
