1922 M.I.Mech.E., Mechanical Engineer, I, Baron Grove, Mitcham, Surrey. Ed. Grammar School, Yarm-on-Tees, Yorkshire. Apprenticed as Millwright and Engineer with J. Hauxwell and Son, Yarm-on-Tees; with Head, Wrightson and Co., Ltd., Thornaby-on-Tees (Pattern Shop and Foundry). 1896—Chief Engineer to the late William Whiteley, afterwards William Whiteley, Ltd. Remodelled the Electric Installation with high-speed engines, also fitted and finished the extensive Laundries and Dry Cleaning Works at West Kensington. 1903-11 with Harrod's Stores, Ltd., as Engineer-in-chief, installing Electrical Installation for supplying the Stores with current for light and power, and private flats. Since 1911 Inspector with Mather and Platt, Ltd.
