1874-9 Trained in civil engineering at the Polytechnic in Zurich

1879-82 Pupil under George Fosbery Lyster for the Mersey Docks and Harbour Board

1882 Started work for James Abernethy on parts of Hull Docks

1883 Associate Member of the Inst Civil Engineers

Worked on the Manchester Ship Canal

1901 Civil engineer, lived with his family in Rawdon, Yorkshire[1]

1911 Gerald Fitz-gibbon 53, civil engineer, lived in Hampstead with Margaret Mary Fitz-gibbon 50, Allen Fitz-gibbon 22, mining engineer, Marguerita Clara Fitz-gibbon 18[2]
