Gibson

From Graces Guide

Gibson was a motorcycle constructed in 1898 by George Gibson of Birkenhead, Wirral, Merseyside.

The design was quite advanced for the time and had a 1.75hp engine built into the frame. The crankcase formed the bottom bracket, the seat tube attached to it and the downtube bolted on the top of the inclined engine. The pedals fitted to the ends of the crankshaft, which drove the rear wheel directly by chain.

It is thought that only one machine was built.
