1867 Was one of the industrial venues hosting visitors to the British Association's meeting in Dundee[1]

The Tay Works had a frontage of 1000 feet to the Lochee Road, and rose five stories in the centre, and four along the wings. These works were devoted almost exclusively to jute manu­factures, the raw material being imported direct from Calcutta.

1890 Renamed as Gilroy, Sons and Co
