1860 Fifth annual meeting of the Association of Foremen Engineers was held in Glasgow.[1]

1887 The foremen engineers of Glasgow and the West of Scotland commemorated the James Watt anniversary by dining together[2]

1899 The West of Scotland Foremen Engineers’ and Ironworkers’ Association held their second annual dinner[3]

1905 The annual dinner of the Glasgow and West of Scotland Foremen Engineers' and Ironfounders' Association was held in Glasgow[4]

1909 The annual dinner of the Glasgow and West Scotland Association Foremen Engineer' and Draughtsmen[5]

1927 The Glasgow and West of Scotland Association of Foremen Engineers and Draughtsmen.[6]

1937 The annual dinner of the West of Scotland Association Foremen Engineers.[7]

1953 Death, at the age of 92, of Mr John McIntyre, Mordun, Roundriding Road, Dumbarton, who until his retirement over 20 years ago, had a notable record in Clyde engineering circles, and was the "Father of the West of Scotland Foremen Engineers’ Association, of which he was a founder member."[8]
