Glen Spey Distillery

1887 The distillery was sold to W. and A. Gilbey by James Stuart and Co for £11,500, a price said to be below the cost of construction three years earlier.[2]

The distillery remained in Gilbey's ownership until passing, through mergers, under the successive control of International Distillers and Vintners, Grand Metropolitan and finally, Diageo.
