Golden Valley Colliery

1835 Fatal Accident at the Golden Valley Colliery, Bitton.[1]

1848 Mr. James Brain, of the Golden Valley Collieries.[2]

1864 The proprietors are A. Brain and Co

1880 'Aaron Brain, of the Golden Valley, in Bitton aforesaid, Colliery Proprietor'[3]

1883 Fire at colliery kills three.[4]

1898 For sale. Golden Valley Colliery. The whole of the workings with machinery, fixtures, houses shops and Wharf. Worked and unworked of 80 acres with the leases of 207 acres adjoining.[5]
