1840 Formation of a partnership between Lewis Dunbar Brodie Gordon and Lawrence Hill
1841-2 Gordon and Hill erected the great chimney at Tennant's factory to carry off noxious gases from the St Rollox chemical works, assisted by Joseph Colthurst.[1]
1845 Studied the supplying of water to Glasgow from Lock Katrine
1848 The Stornoway Patent Slip erected by Gordon and Hill under the superintendence of Robert Bruce Bell of that firm.[2]
