1913 The Graphite Oils Company Limited, 48 Burgher Street, Parkhead, Glasgow, was incorporated as a private company, with capital of £5,000, to carry on the business of manufacturers of or dealers in graphite, oil and paint.[1]

1920 The company went into voluntary liquidation. However, this was solely to allow the business to be transferred to another company to be registered under the same, this time as a public company.[3] The company looked to raise £200,000 in capital, in particular to develop the process for manufacturing lubricating oils and greases with natural graphite in suspension and sold under the trade name of Suspensol.[4]
