Formed in 1879 from the following lines:

  • Huntingdon to St. Ives (GER owned)
  • Needingworth Junction to March (GER owned)
  • March to Spalding (GNR owned)
  • Lincoln to Black Carr Junction (GNR owned)

1882 A new section from Spalding to Lincoln was opened

1896 They purchased the Ramsey and Somersham Railway

The eventual total mileage was 123 miles

1923 Became part of London and North Eastern Railway
