1891 Directory: Listed. Greenfield Mill Co, Greenfield Mill; 1,180 looms, India and China shirtings and jacconettes.[1]

1899 Owner was Ernest George Davies.[2]

1913 Ashton and Sons.[3]

1929 'Mr. J. P. Davies is a cotton manufacturer at Greenfield Mills, Darwen, and resides at Lytham.'[4]

1931 Visited by Gandhi with 1,180 looms at its height.[5][6]

1931 Mr. J. Percival Davies is a cotton manufacturer at Greenfield Mills, Darwen.[7]

1954 Acquired by Thorne and Co.[8]

1956 'Thorne and Co the Manchester specialists in exporting cotton piece-goods and owners of Greenfield Mill (Darwen) cotton manufacturing concern.'[9]

1959 Closed and completely demolished.
