Gregory Watt (1777-1804)

1777 Born the son of James Watt and his second wife Ann Macgregor.

1797 Gregory Watt came to Penzance for the benefit of his health and being a scientific man gave much assistance to Humphry Davy.[1]

In mid-1801 he set off on European travels in hopes of recovering his health.

1804 Died from consumption

1804 Obituary. 'Monday last was interred at St. Peter's Cathedral, Gregory Watt esq. son of the celebrated James Watt, esq near Birmingham: a young man of such elaffical taste and philosophical attainments as to render him an important loss in the literary world' [2]
