1914 Joined the 24th Hessian Life Dragoons

1916 Commissioned

1917-18 pilot

1921-24 employed on aerodynamic research work at Gottingen,

1925-26 chief designer to the Albatros Flugzeugwerke, Johannisthal, Berlin

1926-29 technical adviser to the Ishikawajima Aircraft Works, Tokyo.

1929 Joined the technical staff of Messrs. Handley Page, Ltd.
