1900 M.Inst.C.E., M. I.E.E., 50, Onslow Gardens, South Kensington; b. 1859. Ed. Eton College and at Hanover, Germany. Held post with Brush Engineering Co. and Telegraph Construction and Maintenance Co. up to 1885; with Mather and Platt, Ltd., 1886-1904, was a Managing Director of this company. Was Chairman of the Manchester Section of the Inst. of Electrical Engineers, 1902-3. Has been chairman or director of many companies from which he has now retired. Has travelled as the representative of various firms in Russia, Germany and France, also South Africa, Canada and the United States. Publications: " Supply of Electricity in Bulk," Manchester Section, Institution of Electrical Engineers; " Storage Batteries," British Association, Ipswich Meeting. Societies, Clubs: Union Club, Trafalgar Square, and Bath Club; Royal Society of Arts, and Royal Institution.
