1860 Business established by Henry Brecknell, Senior, a small non-ferrous foundry.

1877 Henry Brecknell became sole proprietor of the firm under the name of H. Brecknell and Son.

1880 His father died

1894 The company moved into the electrification business

1895 Gained contract for the initial stage of the Bristol Tramway. This was the first contract to include every aspect of providing electric "power on the move."

1896 Henry was joined in partnership by Messrs. Munro and Rogers to form Brecknell, Munro and Rogers
