1879 November 22nd. Born at Hatton, Mddx., the son of Alfred William, of Springfield, Walton-on-Thames, Surrey and his wife Harriet, daughter of the Rev. James Lawrence.
Called to the Bar, Lincoln's Inn, June 24, 1903. On the Western Circuit in 1920.
Became a motoring journalist, joining the staff of the Car Illustrated, 1909.
London editor of The Autocar, 1915; afterwards (1930-8) editor;
Editor of The Light Car.
1908 Married at Staines to Katharine Mary Druce
1911 Living at Hill Rise, Fairmile Avenue Cobham, Surrey; Harold Carlisle Lafone (age 31 born Hatton), Editor - Publishing - Employer. With his wife Katharine Mary Lafone (age 38 born Leics.) and their son Lawrence Alexander Lafone (age 1 born Cobham). Four servants.[1]
