H. COLE ESTEP died in Cleveland, Ohio, on September 30, 1929, at the age of forty.

Born at Seattle, he was trained as an engineer, but early in his career he was attracted to technical journalism, and joined the staff of The Foundry.

About 1919 he was appointed European manager for his company, and for the next five years he made his headquarters in London. On his return to the United States he was made vice-president of his company.

He joined the Iron and Steel Institute in 1919.
