Henry George Holborow (1846-1913)

1846 Born in Sherston, Wiltshire (near Malmesbury), son of Henry, a farmer, and Emma Holborow.

1856 Henry Holborow and Francis Holborow were both recorded as farmers in Tresham (a few miles west of Tetbury)[1]

1861 Henry Holborow 39, farmer employing 8 men and 3 women, lived in Sherston Magna, with Emma Holborow 43, Henry George Holborow 15, Alfred John Holborow 10, Rufus Holborow 7, Arthur Holborow 5, Ada Mary Holborow 2, Daniel Walter Holborow 1[2]

1869 Wrote to The Engineer twice giving his ideas about locomotive design and safety valves; address given as Tetbury.

1875 Married Lucy Ann Hatherell[3]

1881 Henry G. Holborrow 35, engineer, employing 35 men and 5 boys, lived in Stroud, with Lucy A. Holborrow 31, Jacqueline L. Holborrow 4, Willifred H. Holborrow 2, and boarding with him was Arthur Holborrow, engineer's clerk[4]

1901 Henry G Holborow 55, employer, engineer, lived in Bristol with Lucy A Holborow 51, Jacqueline L Holborow 24, Wilfred H T Holborow 22, Guy R Holborow 19, Geoffrey G Holborow 12[5]

1913 Died in Mangotsfield; his executors were his widow Lucy Ann Holborow and Guy Randolph Holborow, engineer[6]
