HARRY RAVENSON, M.Sc.Tech., received his education at the Manchester College of Technology, and at Manchester University, where he graduated B.Sc.Tech., with honours in mechanical engineering in 1928. In addition he obtained his M.Sc.Tech. degree a year later. He then became a pupil in the works of the Linotype and Machinery Company, of Altrincham and London, and after three years' experience, which included the erection and testing of printing machinery as well as the study of production control, he was appointed assistant production manager to the English Needle and Fishing Tackle Company, Ltd., of Studley. He remained with that firm for nine years, filling successively the position of production manager at Redditch, planning and progress organizer at Studley, and finally, systems supervisor.
In 1942 he joined Messrs. H. Whitehead and Staff, industrial consultants, Westminster, and a few months before his untimely death, which occurred on 27th February 1945, at the age of thirty-seven, he accepted an appointment as senior executive and head of the organization and routine section for the Wallace Attwood Company, management consultants, of Westminster.
Mr. Ravenson was elected a Graduate of the Institution in 1931 and was transferred to Associate Membership in 1935.
