1904 Their 'Magic' brand of tool steel was described in American Machinist as 'about half way between the carbon and high-speed steels', specially adapted for taking deep cuts on mild steel on turret lathe jobs.[1]

1911 had developed steel for motor car chassis; also steel for general machine parts[2]
