HMS Amazon

Built by Thornycroft. HMS Amazon together with her sister ship HMS Ambuscade (1926) were the first destroyers to be built in this contry since the war. It is understood that they have been built to independent designs, governed only by certain essential features specified by the Admiralty.

1925 January. Laid down at Woolston.

1926 January 27th. Delayed launch date (was meant to be January 16th) due to the slipway being frozen.

1926 September 21st. Steam trials to start.[1]
