1945 New vessel bearing the name was laid down by the Harland and Wolff shipyard in Belfast on 10 May 1945.

1948 The sixth HMS Bulwark (pennant no. R08) of the Royal Navy was launched; she was a 22,000 tonne Centaur-class light fleet aircraft carrier.

1954 commissioned into the Royal Navy on 4 November 1954.

1958 Paid off at Portsmouth

1960 Recommissioned as a commando carrier; her sister ship, HMS Albion, followed in 1961.

1981 On 27 March, Bulwark returned to Portsmouth for the final time in her career. She was decommissioned and declared for disposal in April. The carrier was towed from Portsmouth to Cairnryan to be scrapped in April 1984.[1]
