Hall Signal Co

From Graces Guide

US owned company

1904 The company had fitted automatic signals on the North Eastern Railway between Alne and Thirsk. The signals were worked by carbonic acid liquefied gas stored in cylinders at the signal, the gas being admitted to work the signals by valves controlled electrically by the track circuit. The signals stand normally at danger except when lowered for a train to enter a section that is clear.
