1861 The company was incorporated.
1867 By act obtained in this year, the property was vested in the Great Western Railway and the Metropolitan Railway who took over all the liabilities and engagements of the company. [1]
1882 The Metropolitan and the Great Western companies were operators of the Hammersmith Line when it was proposed to build a line from Latimer Road to Acton which would require the companies' consent[2]
1899 A collision occurred at the Hammersmith terminus of the Metropolitan and Great Western joint line[3]
Early 1900s the line was electrified
1914 The Hammersmith and City Railway was the joint property of the Metropolitan and Great Western companies[4]
1919 Ladbroke Grove station was renamed with this name; it was a station on the Metropolitan and Great Western Joint line[5]
