Hampstead Water Co

1693 Company established[1]; the ponds at Hampstead were vested in the company.

1848 Henry P. Hakewill was the engineer[2]

1853 Supplied water in the Hampstead area from springs at Hampstead and Kenwood, 2 artesian wells and, temporarily, the New River; the company was sinking a new well to reach the greensand[3] but the geology was not sufficiently well understood and it proved to be unsuccessful.

1856 Taken over by the New River Co[4]
