1908 Started work on gas turbines based on the Otto cycle

1923 A Holzwarth constant-volume oil combustion turbine, which had been ordered by the Prussian State Railways, was run at the Thyssen Works at Mulheim. This was thought to be the only practical gas turbine in operation at that time.[1]
