HAROLD ST. GEORGE BOWN HAYES, born on the 26th January, 1882, died as the result of an accident, at Lynton, on the 14th August, 1914.

After serving a pupilage with the late Mr. J. H. Hayes, surveyor, of Kensington, he served as an assistant to Mr. Travers Wood, Borough Engineer of Fulham, and subsequently to Mr. C. H. Cooper, Borough Engineer of Wimbledon, and also lectured at the Hackney Technical Institute.

At the date of his untimely death he was Assistant Surveyor of the City of Westminster.

Mr. Hayes was elected an Associate Member of The Institution on the 7th April, 1908.
