HARRY ALFRED BARTRAM was throughout his career engaged upon the installation and erection of pumping plant. He first served five years' apprenticeship in the works of Messrs. James Simpson and Company, London, from 1887 to 1892, and for the following five years he was engaged on the installation for his firm of high- and low-duty Worthington engines, etc., at sewage and water works.

Mr. Bartram subsequently superintended the installation of pumping plants in Malta, at tin mines in Spain, at Argentine waterworks, and at Portsmouth and Bristol.

Later he became chief assistant in the erection department, carrying out duty trials and inspections.

In 1907 he was appointed manager of the erection department of the Worthington Pump Company until 1918, and he worked also in the same capacity for Messrs. Worthington-Simpson.

He still retained this position at the time of his death on 12th December 1931, in his sixtieth year.

He was elected an Associate Member of the Institution in 1902.
