1896 The company was incorporated on October 15th.

1908 The corporation of Hartlepool have the right to purchase the tramways in 1925 (the permanent way under the terms of Section 43 of the Tramways Act, and the electrical equipment at its fair value). The corporation of West Hartlepool can purchase the tramways authorised by the orders of 1883 and 1884 in their district in 1911. The other tramways in West Hartlepool can be purchased in 1909 on condition that a lease till 1916 be granted to the company. [1]
