1954 Hartleys took over Baird Television Ltd; a new company Hartley Baird Ltd was formed. Mr Hartley was appointed Managing Director.

1954 Acquired Ambassador Radio and Television

1958 Acquired H. J. Baldwin and Co

1961 Electronic and electrical engineers; radio and magnetic tape recorder manufacturers, specialists in extrusion and moulding of plastics, cable makers, brick, tile and pre-cast concrete, manufacturing and distribution. [1]

1963 Hartley Baird sold their interest in Duratube and Wire[2].
