1887 Partnership established to carry out harbour works, a branch of the firm of Hawkshaw and Hayter, of London.

1898 With the death of Mr. Harrison Hayter, Past President Inst.C.E., the name of the firm Hawkshaw, Hayter and Dobson, both in London and Buenos Ayres, was changed to Hawkshaw and Dobson.
