HENRI EDWARD GRUNER was born at Basle, Switzerland, on the 8th February, 1873, and died at Basle on the 28th November, 1947.

He received his general education at Basle and pursued his engineering studies at the Federal Polytechnic College of Zurich.

In 1900 he became an assistant to Mr. Hermann Laub, Consulting Engineer, of Pittsburg, Pennsylvania.

On his return to Switzerland he was engaged in the design and construction of hydro-electric power stations at Laufenburg, Flims, and Amniberg.

In 1906 he commenced private practice, but in 1908 he was appointed Engineer in charge of the construction of the Laufenburg plant....[more]
