1909-11 Studied at Glasgow and West of Scotland Technical College where he gained B.Sc
1913 Joined HM Inspector of Factories
1915 Joined Naval Ordnance Department, Admiralty
1919 rejoined HM Inspector of Factories
For some years H. A. Hepburn B.Sc., A.M.I.Mech.E., and his colleague W. A. D. Forbes, studied the problems of the internal combustion turbine and proposed the Hepburn-Forbes system to address them; this was a sub-atmospheric, single-fluid, constant-pressure cycle which seemed to Hepburn and Forbes to have the most promising line of development[2]
1922 Became an Associate of I Mech E
1930 Lived in Edgbaston[3]
1939 Worked for HM Inspector of Factories. Lived in Cheadle with Margaret W Hepburn[4]
1944 transferred to Member I Mech E
1984 Henry Andrews Hepburn (b.1888) died in Newcastle upon Tyne[5]
