1898-1902 Educated at Peterhouse, Cambridge

1902 Gained honours in Mathematics and Mechanical Science (Engineering).

1902-3 Employed by Marconi's Wireless Telegraph Co., Ltd., as junior engineer

1903-4 At the Royal Naval College, Greenwich

1904-5 Naval Instructor in H.M.S. Vernon

1905 Appointed Expert in Wireless Telegraphy to the Admiralty.

1913 Married. 'The marriage arranged between Mr Henry Ashley Madge, of H.M.S. Vernon, elder eon of the late Mr Charles Madge, of Swansea, and Jean Cuthbertson, youngest daughter of the late Rev. D. M. Macalister of Edinburgh...[1]
