Henry Beare (c1825-1907) of Henry Beare and Sons

Henry Beare was born c1825 at Meeth, a village between Torrington and Okehampton. He appears to have had eleven children, in two marriages. His elder sons John (born c1851) and Thomas (c1860-1) both joined their father in the business. In 1871 Henry was based at Ilsington, where he employed 15 men and six boys.
