HENRY BENJAMIN HOGHTON CHAPMAN, born on the 8th December, 1851, died at Tacna, Chile, on the 22nd June, 1912.

Obtaining his early experience on English railway and dock construction, he was subsequently engaged on railway construction in South America and West Africa, and as Director of Public Works at Lagos.

At the time of his death he was General Manager of the Arjca-Tacna Railway, Chile.

Mr. Chapman was elected a Member of The Institution on the 4th December, 1900.
