Alderman Robert Henry Coate Butt J.P, Langport House, Weston-super-Mare, retired merchant and property owner, foundei of the Weston-super-Mare Residential Flats Co., Ltd., a director of the Weston-super-Mare and District Gas Co., Charter Mayor, first Mayor and first freeman of the borough and a generous benefactor to town.[1]
