HENRY EDWIN SIMPSON, born on the 17th February, 1859, died on the 23rd September, 1912.

He gained his practical experience under the late Joseph Kincaid, and both then and subsequently, as a consulting engineer in independent practice, he was associated with the design and construction of many tramways and light railways in the United Kingdom.

Between 1890 and 1900 he built tramways and other works in Buenos Aires, at Huelva, Spain, and at Lagos, West Africa.

Mr. Simpson was elected an Associate Member of The Institution on the 8th January, 1889.
